When a handwriting examination report needs reviewing

How to recognise a disputed or incomplete report, or one requiring review.

Material to help prepare for an examination

A review is needed when the report raises doubts: there are too few specimens, the conclusions contradict the descriptive section, the expert has exceeded their competence or has not explained the features.

The review findings may be used to prepare objections or an application for an additional or repeat examination.

State which document is to be examined, whether the original exists, which specimens are available and why the report is needed: court, a notary, an inheritance dispute, a corporate dispute or a pretrial claim.
